As a Scrap For Hire artist, I will scrap your memories for you digitally so you'll have them to enjoy for years to come.

What is Digital Scrapbooking?

Digital scrapbooking is the perfect way to preserve your memories and, in my opinion, is far better than paper scrapping. Much like traditional paper scrapbooking, you have your personal photos, backgrounds, elements and alphas and they're layered onto your pages in much the same way as far as appearance goes. The difference is that, with digital scrapbooking, they're all digital images that were either created with the various design software on the market today, or have been scanned in from real items. There is no paper involved unless you print a copy of your page(s). As you can imagine, there are a lot of benefits to scrapping your memories digitally, and you can read about them here.

What is Scrap For Hire?

Often abbreviated S4H, Scrap For Hire is when you pay someone to digitally scrap your memories for you. Perhaps you don't have the time, the right program and/or the know-how to scrap your own photos. That's where someone like me steps in. You provide me with photos and some basic info--which will be covered in our initial consultation--and I create beautiful pages which you can print individually or as an album. Since I'm also a digital scrapbook kit designer, for an extra fee I can create a kit that would be used just for your layouts! This is especially nice for wedding albums if you want to use your wedding colors for all your pages. Scrap For Hire artists usually have a wide arrray of kits to scrap with--all approved for S4H use, of course--which means you can choose the color, theme and style for your memories.

Scenic

I cannot express how important it is to capture the little things that make our lives worth living! All About...

All about you, him, her, them, us. One of the main reasons to record your memories is to pass on a piece of yourself to future generations. In my opinion, the best way to do this is by creating All About pages. It could be a page about your likes and dislikes, an emotion you're feeling at a certain time in your life, a good--or bad--experience that changed your outlook, your goals and dreams for the future. And they don't have to be pages just about you; what about a page that talks about your child's emerging personality at different life stages? Or his/her special fascinations, likes, dislikes? It is very important to do pages such as these so future generations can learn about us!

Family Traditions

There's nothing I like better than continuing family traditions. And they're not just for holidays! You might have a special outfit that is passed down to each generation and is used for Baptismals. Why not take a photo of the gown and journal its history? Likewise with special toys, unique Christmas ornaments, special songs sung to babies or at birthdays, trips taken each year to the same place...the list for traditions is as varied as we are. Let me scrap yours.

Friendship

Whether you're young or old, friends are the spice of life. Let me create a page for you to give to that special friend. From the first ultrasound to the first birthday, every child deserves a beautifully designed and carefully created baby album. It's the perfect way to record how you felt when you saw your child for the first time, how you chose his or her name, all the baby "firsts" such as first word and first step. And don't forget to include some photos of mommy while she was still pregnant! I love scrapping maternity and baby pages. Holidays are special times of the year for everyone, regardless of age. You don't want to miss those Christmas smiles or the joy of Trick-or-Treating; Mother's/Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving. There isn't a single holiday that doesn't deserve a special scrapbook page!

Photo Enhancements

Below are some examples of the more popular photo enhancements that I currently offer. As I purchase more filters, I will be expanding this section.

Turning color photos to Black & White sounds easy, but I'll do more than just turn than to grayscale. I'll find the best color channel to use and will adjust the brightness and contrast to give you the best looking B&W photo possible.

Color fade is when I take your photo and play with the level of saturation. It can be a slight color fade/desaturation or a more dramatic one...either way, it's a unique touch.

Sepia photos are beautiful. They can add a heritage feel to your page, making your photos seem to take on a classic beauty. Various levels of sepia can be applied from a light touch to a darker shade.

Color tinting is definitiely unique. It might not work with all photos, but can look quite lovely when done correctly.

I love the look of photos blended into the background paper. There are lots of fun ways to do this and they all turn out like works of art!

Selective coloring is when you take a color photo and turn it to B&W except for "accent" pieces that you leave colored. You can leave a lot colored, like in the raincoat page above, only one thing colored like the hearts in the Valentine's Day page, or even a color fade instead of a complete B&W like in the water lily photo.

Photo extractions definitely make a statement. They are fun, dramatic and really make you page stand out. Whether you want a complete extraction, such as in the examples above, or just a partial extraction, which looks nice if you want the top half of your subject coming out of the frame, I'll do my best to make you page come alive.

Maternity

Oh how the body changes during those 9 months of maternity! Take lots of pictures of that expanding tummy and let me scrpa an album for you so you'll never forget this special period of your life. So many women forget to capture these months. Jot down your thoughts and your feelings and we'll include them in your album. WHat a wndeful thing to look back on and to share with your child when s/he grows up!

Invitations

Send out very special invitations for your baby or bridal shower; invitations made specifically for you! I can use your theme, if you have one, or simply the colors you want. Afterwards, you can have me put together a mini album with all the pics from your all-about-me day!

Wedding invitations are amongst the important you'll send. You want to make sure that they're extra special. Let me creat them for you using your wedding colors. From elegant to modern, I can capture your style.

Birthdays

Birthdays are a perfect reason to get a page or album scrapped. The cake, the party-goers, the presents...there's lots of ideas for scrapping these events! That first birthday is, of course, so important and you'll certainly want to scrap every moment of it. As children grow older, it's fun to take photos of their birthday parties and make up little brag books to hand out to the people who attended. But don't forget to scrap pages of birthdays for the older crowd too. What about that dreaded-by-so-many 40th birthday? Or great-grandma's 90th birthday? Or that memorable day when you finally turned 21? Don't leave anyone out on this one!

Character Studies

One of my favorite things to do is to scrap pics of children showing different sides of their personalities. It's a really terrific way to capture everything that makes up "them." You can do character studies for people of every age! Another great idea is to scrap a sort of time progression, like baby's first year--a photo from every month of their first year, or the pregnancy progression with photos of that ever growing tummy! And you don't have to make a character study of just one person; try scrapping a character comparison between siblings!

Childhood Firsts

Losing that first tooth, riding a 2-wheeler for the first time, the first time eating with a spoon, the first kiss, the first date, the first day of school, the first time we see snow, even baby's very first picture (the ultrasound!)...our lives are filled with firsts. Why not scrap them? Sentimental moms and grandmas everywhere want to recall all those little steps in their children's lives!

What a special event...making the decision to spend the rest of your life with the person you love. You'll want those photos scrapped! You might have been lucky enough to have someone capture the moment when the question was asked, or you might have formal portraits that you handed out to friends and family.
